In case the bug to play golf has bitten you, it would then become necessary for you to go about the task of purchasing a golf club set in the proper manner so as to help you play the game to the best of your abilities. Even if you already own a golf club set and are looking for a replacement, you will still need to understand the true importance of golf club fitting. In essence, this would basically mean that you have to consider factors such as length and weight as well as grip size to get everything right so that the golf clubs you have bought will end up suiting you and your physique perfectly.

Golf Grip

There are many options open to you when it comes to golf club fitting and if you act wisely, you will easily get to fix your tendency to slice the ball, and also cure your habit of hooking the ball, and in addition, even start to feel more comfortable about the game in general. To begin with, getting the golf grip right is the first important issue that needs to be addressed by golf club fitting.

If you are able to fix the grip size so that it suits your hands well, it would lead to being able to eliminate common errors from your game and that in turn would translate into dramatic improvement in your game. The second important consideration that golf club fitting must address is the length of the golf clubs that you are going to use.

By selecting golf clubs so that they suit your particular dimensions, you will then be able to succeed in personalizing your touch and so, achieve proper height and arm length and also be able to control how much you need to bend your knees each time you make a golf swing. With an ideal golf club length, you are assured of a better as well as safer swing.

Another aspect that needs to be addressed by golf club fitting is the shaft of your golf clubs. It is very important that the shaft must suit your style of play as it is something that will have a decided impact on your swing which can change from fast to slow or even become smooth or jerky – depending on how the shaft has been constructed. Shaft flex is rated as extra stiff, regular, stiff and ladies as well as senior, and you can choose the one that suits you the best.

Though golf club fitting can prove to be a bit more expensive than you would have liked, spending a few more dollars for it can pay you back manifold once you are able to choose the proper golf clubs for yourself. If needed, you should also make use of golf club reviews to help you select the proper golf clubs after which you can start to worry about the fit.

Some good quality retail stores have been known to offer discounted golf clubs and if you are keen on golf club fitting, you should check with them to see whether or not they are offering fittings at lower rates. Remember, it is not only the well-heeled who can enjoy a great game of golf because other options are available for the less well-heeled that will help them to have as good a time as does someone who has paid a fair amount of money for golf club fitting.

Before heading out to a new course, many golfers will take advantage of the golf course review available to see what they can expect once they arrive. There is a lot of information written in a golf course review, especially if it is written by people who have actually played the course more than once, and useful information will usually include more than the personality of the clubhouse personnel.

When looking at a golf course review, there are two numbers that really tell the story on how well the player can expect to do on the course. Consider the two different types of golfers, one that shoots par for the course nearly every time they go out, regardless of the course or conditions, and the bogey golfer who typically scores 18 over par on every round played. Using these two groups, every hole on every course is given two numbers. One is the rating and one is the slope, which when included in the golf course review indicate the difficulty of the course for both groups.

The U.S. Golf Association has standardized the rating system that is included in the golf course review. The rating is the score that average par golfer can expect to shoot on the course. The slope is the difference between what the par golfer and bogey golfer can expect on the same course under similar conditions.

Course Design Plays Into Reviews Of All Courses

When looking at the golf course review the layout needs to be taken into consideration. Bogey golfers will have more trouble with tight fairways, but larger greens may be more forgiving. Better golfers will usually have little trouble with tight fairways, but smaller greens may give them some grief. It is helpful if the golfer’s handicap is included with what they write in a golf course review.

While it is nice to visit a golf course where the employees are exceptionally friendly and they offer great service, the condition of the golf equipment they provide is even more important to include in a golf course review. It will not matter how much they smile and thank you if the golfer has to walk back to the clubhouse because the golf cart broke down on the other side of the course.

Course conditions are usually included in independent comments in a golf course review, but again, consider the time of year the golfer played and the weather conditions at the time. All of these variables indicated in a golf course review can offer a better picture of what can be expected on the course when played.

I live in Shawnee,OKlahoma and my wife is looking for a woman golf pro to give her lessons. Does anyone know one and where?

This site has a directory of golf courses in the Oklahoma City area, and you could probably find some golf tutors there.

I live in Alberta and would like to become a golf pro. Other than shooting low on a consistent basis, what next?

Best idea mate contact the Canadian PGA for advice.

The cheaper the better and preferably near Orange County, New York.

Your experience will come from actually doing the lugging of the golf bag and learning from the older caddies. When caddies were the norm it fell on the assistant pro to teach the caddies, test them, grade them and classify them. Input from the members was encouraged. To answer your question, I do not know and I doubt there is a school.

Does anyone know where I can buy a used golf cart from like a golf course that sells their old golf carts for real cheap like a couple hundred dollars? In the central new york area?

Call Tire-Land USA in Nichols,NY. 607-699-8473. Somewhere they buy older, used golf carts and sell them quite cheaply. A couple hundred dollars may be a little aggressive but call them and find out. My mom bought one to help her with her gardening and flower beds. Works great.
